Plan book #1 contains detailed instructions for the sliding lid box. This is an ideal starting point for you if you are new to small joinery, as the techniques are easy for you to apply to future projects.

The book contains information like cutting lists and photos, descriptions and diagrams of specific box making techniques. The book is also packed with handy tips and techniques for small joinery.

Plan book #1 complements Sliding lid box, DVD #1. The DVD, like the book, follows a chapter format to present a visual overview for making a particular box, from setting up the jig through to completion of the box.

DOVETAILED BOXES, PLAN BOOK #2

Plan book #2 is a sequel to Introduction to small joinery, Plan book #1. The ‘Dovetailed boxes’ is an ideas book, for you to build on the experience gained from the introductory plans. Apply this knowledge to a range of six boxes—from the Desktop box  to the Japanese inspired Daydream box. It also has plans for jewellery boxes and a blanket box.

While the projects all have cutting lists with dimensions, you can adapt any of the boxes; scale upor scale downto suit your requirements.

The book contains information like cutting lists and photos, descriptions and diagrams of specific box making techniques. The book is also packed with handy tips and essential techniques for small joinery.

The appendix covers timber selection and preparation, fence ideas for the router table, fitting hinges and more.

Plan book #2 complements Loose lid box, DVD #2. The DVD, like the book, follows a chapter format to present a visual overview setting up the jig through to the completion of a loose lidded box.

SPECIAL JEWELLERY BOX, PLAN BOOK #3

Special jewellery box, Plan book #3 feature a dovetailed carcass (it could also be finger jointed) which is split to form the lid. The top is a mitered frame with floating panel, which is glued to the top half of the dovetailed carcass.

The box uses concealed barrel hinges which are very easy to fit (available from www.boxmakersbrassware.com.au). An internal wall lining locates the lid and supports a lift out tray with shaped handles and loose partitions.

The book contains a cutting list and photos, descriptions and diagrams of specific box making techniques. The book is also packed with handy tips and techniques for small joinery.

Whilst the project has a cutting list with dimensions, the box can be scaled up or down to suit your requirements.
