1. Product description and availability
Gifkins Dovetail aims to describe and display its products accurately online. However, to the fullest extent permissible by law, Gifkins Dovetail is not liable for inaccurate or out-of-date product descriptions. Please note that the actual colours of products will depend on your computer monitor. We give no guarantee to you of the availability of any particular item advertised on the website and will not be liable to you if any product is out of stock or discontinued at any time.
Gifkins Dovetail will make every effort to ensure that you are aware of its products and availability. We encourage you to make contact to discuss products and options.
2. Pricing
Product prices on the website are quoted in Australian dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise, and exclude delivery costs. Shipping will be added to your purchase after we receive your order [see 4. Shipping, for more details].
The quoted product price may change expressly from time to time. Gifkins Dovetail makes every effort to ensure that product pricing is correct. In the event of a product pricing error on our website, we reserve the right to accept or decline your order at any time and for any reason.
3. Orders and payment
No contractual relationship for the supply of a product exists between you and Gifkins Dovetail until you have fully paid for the order, and, we have notified you that the order has been accepted by providing an order confirmation. Gifkins Dovetail reserves the right to accept or decline your order at any time and for any reason, or to require you to provide additional information or verification associated with the order.
Payment by credit card
We accept Mastercard and Visa credit cards only for national and international orders. By forwarding your credit card details to us, you authorise us to make only one transaction which will include the cost of postage.
Payment by direct deposit
Gifkins Dovetail accepts direct deposit for customers in Australia only. By forwarding your order to us with a request for a direct deposit transaction, you authorise us to include the cost of postage.
When we receive an order with a request for payment by direct deposit, we send you, the customer, a draft invoice which outlines your contact and shipping details, the costs of the order and shipping, and our banking information. We will advise you the when we receive payment and then post the order immediately.
If you want to discuss shipping arrangements, contact Gifkins Dovetail before you place your order. We will also take your order over the phone.
4. Shipping
It is the policy of Gifkins Dovetail to dispatch an order, on your behalf, within five [5] working days. We will contact you immediately, to advise of any delays, and the expected dispatch time. A delay in shipping will usually be due to us being away from the office, or, that we are awaiting delivery of particular stock items.
Excluding special offers which may occur from time to time, you will be responsible for the cost of postage and handling.
We add shipping after we receive your order and credit card authority
The range, weight and varied sizes of our products makes it impossible to use an automated postage calculator in our website checkout. We sell items as small as grub screws, and as large as a router table. Also, it’s common practise for customers to buy an assortment of products in one purchase.
So, Gifkins Dovetail will ‘bundle’ orders of more than one item, to ensure the most economical shipping price to you, the customer. Once we receive your order, postage will be calculated and added.

Delivery within Australia
For most shipping to delivery addresses within Australia, Gifkins Dovetail uses Australia Post regular parcel service with signature-on-delivery [SoD] tracking.
To get a competitive price for larger items, occasionally we use Fastway Courier Services, if the shipping address is within a reasonably priced delivery zone. We will discuss the freight options with you, the customer, before sending your order.
International delivery is usually sent via Australia Post Standard International with [SoD] tracking. We are also happy to send your order using an international shipping company that you nominate. You will be responsible for the cost of shipping and handling.
Be aware that, where relevant, you will be liable and responsible for any import requirements: any restrictions, licences, duties, taxes and/or government charges that may apply. Delivery times on the website are indicative only.
As the delivery is done by an external party, Gifkins Dovetail cannot be held responsible for any failure to observe those delivery times.
It is therefore understood and agreed that you will not be entitled to withdraw or modify the commitment made for any reason, including without limitation, for any delay in delivery. If, however, delivery has not been effected after 20 days from the indicative delivery date, the customer may treat the failure to deliver as a terminating event and may elect in writing to terminate the contract and receive a refund. This excludes return delivery charges and applies only to the price of the product/s.
5. Returns and refunds
Refunds are not available for a change of mind or incorrect product purchases, unless by prior approval is given by management.
All returns must be applied for within 21 days from the date of delivery. All applications for returns must be accompanied by an original invoice as proof of purchase. Returnable products must be in brand new and unused condition with original undamaged packaging. The customer will bear the cost to return the product to Gifkins Dovetail.
Providing all above terms have been met, Gifkins Dovetail will provide a refund for the product/s only. Any refund given will be made by direct deposit.
From time to time the customer will be offered a credit in lieu of refund of any monies when above terms are not fully met (subject to approval by management).
6. Non-returnable items
Specially ordered custom timber boxes made by Col Hosie are non-returnable.
7. Gifkins Dovetail website terms and conditions

You must be over 18 years of age to use this website and to purchase any goods or services.

The information we receive from our customers, is protected by our secure server. Our website’s secure server software encrypts all customer card information before it is sent to us. When we receive customer card information it is secured against unauthorised use or access. We not store credit card information in any format. After processing your order, your card information is destroyed immediately.
[g] Third parties
Gifkins Dovetail does not, and will not, sell or deal in personal or customer information. We may, however, without reference to your personal details, use your purchase information to improve our website, create marketing statistics, and to assist it in meeting customer needs.
[h] Disclosure of your information
