The Gifkins Dovetail jig is a beautifully designed tool that delivers precise joints every time. It is designed to be used on an under-table mounted router. No special fittings are needed—the jig works brilliantly with any router in any table. The standard package contains all you need to cut perfect dovetails or finger joints. You provide dressed and sanded timber and one or two clamps and you’re ready to start!
We have a full range of accessories to support your box making: the Gifkins jig in two sizes with a range of templates, a box making router table, the Triton router, box making accessories, and spare parts. The box maker’s router table, marking out tools, variable joint spacers and clamp holders, are the products we manufacture from quality Australian-made materials.
The jig is made from quality components sourced from Australian manufacturers. We maintain the highest accuracy of templates by testing the last item made in each production batch. For example, the templates are produced in batches of 18 on a CNC router.
With each batch, the last template to be cut is used to cut a test joint on a standard jig with standard cutters. If this last template is outside the tolerance range then the entire batch is rejected. (So far this has never happened.) The standard jig and cutters are set aside for use on this job only, so the templates are always tested in exactly the same conditions.

Gifkins attends the Timber and Working with Wood Shows throughout the year. At each show Col conducts seminars each day, to demonstrate how easy it is to make a beautiful box with the Gifkins jig.
We also attend regional timber expos and festivals, as well as conducting seminars at schools, men’s sheds and woodworking groups. We look forward to meeting long-time Gifkins Dovetail enthusiasts, and to introducing newcomers to the pleasure of box making and small furniture construction.
The customer will be responsible for the cost of shipping and handling. Gifkins Dovetail will ‘bundle’ orders of more than one item, to ensure you receive the most economical shipping price. Shipping will be calculated and added to your order when its received by Gifkins Dovetail. Orders are usually shipped using Australia Post economy registered post. Overseas orders are shipped after negotiation with the customer.
