BEARING FOR REBATE CUTTER [19mm]
The 19mm big bearing assists the box maker to cut the trenchs for the floor and the lid of a box. See centre large bearing in main image, and item H in Gallery and Legend.
First use the big bearing on the Rebate cutter [TGRC B 1/2] to cut a shallow trench to 1.6mm. Then replace the small bearing on the top of the cutter to finish the trench to 5mm deep.
If you occasionally use soft and fibrous timbers, the shallow cut will help to make a clean, sharp edge without damaging the timber. Some timbers contain silica—two passes to make the trench will prolong the life of your cutter.
Remember to go slowly—let the cutter and router do the work for you.
